U.S. Commerce Association’s Award Plaque Honors the Achievement

WASHINGTON D.C., June 8, 2009 -- Benseron Information Technologies, Inc has been selected for the 2009 Best of Naples Award in the Computer Related Consulting Services category by the U.S. Commerce Association (USCA).

The USCA "Best of Local Business" Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USCA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.

Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2009 USCA Award Program focused on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USCA and data provided by third parties.

NAPLES — It’s Onur Haytac’s job to make sure that you get your turkey sub in a timely fashion.

Or, at least he’s got part of the process covered.

Haytac, founder of Naples-based Benseron Information Technologies Inc., has worked behind the computer screens of nearly 400 Subway franchises in the Southeast as well as more than 100 restaurants nationwide.

For nearly three years the company has carved out a spot in the nation’s restaurant technology market, having become one of the leading designers and sellers of point-of-sale, or PoS, computer systems.

The durable touch-screen computers, which dot the bars and dining rooms of many local restaurants as well, offer software that compiles ordering, sales and surveillance functions.

Haytac, 30, said he started his firm with one goal: to be Florida’s No. 1 provider of restaurant technology.

Now Benseron has “kind of outreached that goal,” Haytac said.

Sell More To More Customers!

1.       Sell Gift Cards!

Why?
·         Gift Cards bring in new customers, and pre-establish the return of existing customers.
·         In 2006, Best Buy transferred $43 million from liabilities to income due to unclaimed gift cards.
·         Consumer reports estimates that 19% of gift cards are lost or expire without use every year.

2.       Add Something Unique

Offering items that customers cannot make at home not only entices them to visit your restaurant, but also keeps them coming back. The cost of adding.....

As an Intern at Benseron POS for the past two months, I am happy to announce my amusement, and dazzle with the simplicity of the software package that Benseron offers.

As a senior at Florida Gulf Coast University studying Computer Information Systems, and having a vocational degree in database management; I understand the complexity of using a database. I have been taught that analyzing numbers, storing information, and computing reports is a complicated process that requires college degrees, years of study, and an overwhelming knowledge of today’s technology.

With Benseron, this is NOT the case!

I  walked into an independently owned sub food shop last week. It had what seemed to be all natural meats, cheeses, soups, and more. The staff was polite and the chicken salad was great. While waiting in line, I glanced toward the cashier’s spot and much to my amazement I saw a cash register. Not like the old tap & ‘ca-ching’ registers, it was electric, but a cash register no less.

The register looked like on that belonged in a small retail store that may be open twice a week or perhaps a mall kiosk, not a natural foods sub shop. There was no thermal printer, no washable/flexible keyboard, no computer software, and no touch screen! This got me thinking and I asked myself the following question. When is it time to upgrade to a Point of Sale, and abandon that old cash register?

New technology makes fast food faster; FGCU graduates hired
By Rob Esmond

Business To Business Editor

Fast food restaurants have long prided themselves in providing their products to the customer quickly. Now, a new technology distributed by a Naples company may make the process even faster. Its owner, a graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University, plans to hire other FGCU graduates as the company grows.

Benseron Information Technologies Inc. has started placing automated ordering systems in many Subway franchises around Southwest Florida. The small kiosks can be set up by the counter, and they feature a touch-screen system that gives customers the opportunity to design their own sandwiches before they get in line.

The menu choices include the type of bread, meat, cheese, condiments, and other ingredients for the sandwiches, as well as additional items such as beverages and chips. The final order can be reviewed or revised, then paid for by credit card at the kiosk if the customer chooses to use the “self-checkout” option. The machine then produces a reipt that is presented when the meal is ready to be picked up.
